Short Bio

Guowei Yang is a Senior Lecturer (equal to U.S Associate Professor) in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Queensland , Australia. His research interests are in software engineering, programming languages, formal methods, and machine learning, with a focus on improving software reliability and security.

Prior to joining UQ in 2021, Guowei was a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Texas State University. He received his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin in 2013. He received his M.S. in Computer Science from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2009. He received his M.E. in Computer Software and Theory from Chinese Academy of Sciences, and his B.E. in Software Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in China.
